Cora M. Peacock

Cora M. Peacock, 92, of Fairland, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008 at her residence. Born March 26, 1916 in Milroy, to Emmitt and Dora (Foreman) McGinn. She married Russel J. Peacock and he preceded her in death. Survivors include son, Stephen (wife, Bonnie) Peacock of Fairland; grandchildren, Amy L. Peacock of Columbus, Stephen R. Peacock, Christina M. Peacock and David J. Peacock, all of Indianapolis; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Olive Briley and Katie Williams; brothers, Edward McGinn and Floyd McGinn. Mrs. Peacock was employed at Western Electric for 32 years, retiring in 1976. She formerly attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shelbyville. Mrs. Peacock was a graduate of Milroy High School in 1934. She was a private person and loved to shop. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN. Funeral services will be at 10 am.m Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hebron Cemetery.
