Daniel Wayne "Dan" Linville

Daniel Wayne “Dan” Linville, 64, of Morristown, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 27, 1951 in Shelbyville, the son of John and Marlene (Tinsley) Linville. He married Alisha (Earley) Linville on February 18, 1997, and she survives. Dan is also survived by his parents of Morristown; son, Benjamin John Linville and wife, Gena, of Shelbyville; daughters, Dana Wodrich and husband, Nik, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Jessica Rubio and significant other, Jason Blakley, of Morristown; brothers, Jeff Linville and wife Deanna, of Douglass, Kansas, Jim Linville and wife, Tracy, of Shirley, Doug Linville and wife, April, of Anderson, and Nathan Linville and wife, Buffy, of Indianapolis; sisters, Nida Jones and husband, Gary, of Gwynneville, Teresa Earnest and husband, Alan, and Lori Zwirn and husband, Pete, both of Morristown; grandchildren, Carson Linville, Cailin Wodrich, Kellen Linville, Olivia Wodrich and Eli Rubio; son-in-law, Felipe Rubio of Morristown; sister-in-law, Gail Loudamy of Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marlin Joe Linville. Dan graduated from Morristown High School in 1969. He attended Little Blue River Friends Church. Dan was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He received many medals, including two purple hearts and three bronze stars with V devices. He was a pathology technician at Eli Lilly for 36 years, retiring in 2006. Dan was a member of the Morristown American Legion Post and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed attending a reunion for the 101st Airborne. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 and from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 at Little Blue River Friends Church, 142 South County Road 1000 West in Rush County. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be at Little Blue River Friends Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the local military committee. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675 or Morristown American Legion, in care of the funeral home.
