Danny Edward Haley, 62, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Ryobi Die Casting Inc.
Born September 30, 1946, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Earl Clifford Haley and Harriett Betty (Huff) Rettig. He was married to Lorie (Clawson) Frazier-Haley, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; daughter Melissa (husband, Timothy) Haley-Travnicek of Town Creek, Alabama; stepdaughter, Marcy (husband, Chris) Coppock of Indianapolis; sisters, Trudy (husband, John) Kruczek of Gainesville, Florida, and Mary Jane (husband, Steve) Allen of Waldron; brother, Michael (wife, Carol) Haley of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Justin Haley, Jared Travnicek and Kason Travnicek, all of Town Creek, Jaclyn Coppock and Lucas Coppock, both of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Haley was a die caster at Ryobi.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 70 and First Christian Church. He was a past member of Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.
Mr. Haley loved his friends, family and golfing. He was an avid NASCAR, Colts and Purdue fan and a supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Carmony-Ewing Chapel of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
