David K. Browning

David K. Browning, 71, a lifelong Shelbyville resident, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, at The Willows in Shelbyville.

He was born July 28, 1952, in Shelbyville, the son of Lester and Elizabeth (Mayo) Browning.

David is survived by his daughters, Erika Davis, Nicole (Patrick) Alvis and Katie (Brandyn) Weaver; brothers, Michael, Richard (Debbie), Roger, and Jay (Tina); three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In 1971, David graduated from Shelbyville High School.

At the age of 38, David experienced a rare medical condition, however, he never let it define him.  He found value in what most would consider small things and displayed an inner strength that most would envy.  He had a laugh that was contagious and a voice level that was bound to be heard.  He was unstoppable until the Lord called him home.

David loved his daughters and his family.  He also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, the Chicago Cubs and NASCAR.  He will be dearly missed by those whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
