David Allen Joachim, Jr., 42, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born May 1, 1981, in South Bend, the son of David Allen Joachim Sr. and Marga Ly (Roberts) McNabb. On January 31, 2011, he married Amber Lynn Kerley, and she survives.
In addition to Amber, David is survived by his mother of Mishawaka; his father and Sally, of Westfield; son, Gavin Joachim of Crown Point; brother, Justin Joachim and wife, Mitzy, of South Bend; and honorary brothers, Scott Ingole and wife, Betty, of South Bend, Phillip Adcock and wife, Shelly, of New Palestine, and Jesse McDonald and wife, Chryste, of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Damon Joachim; and grandparents.
David was employed at Nucore in Shelbyville, as a shipping clerk, for the past six years.
He enjoyed watching horror movies and participated in the Horror Convention “Days of the Dead” since 2011.
David loved to ride his Honda VTX1300.
He also leaves behind his dogs, Duke, Max and Wednesday; and his cat, PJ.
A Celebration of David’s life and open buffet will be held from 3 to 6 pm, Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Blue Bear Golf Club, 2660 N. Riley Highway, in Shelbyville.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 South Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
