David L. Tracy

David L. Tracy, 77, of Morristown passed away Friday, February 3, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 11, 1939, in Indianapolis, the son of Beryl and Mary (Rigdon) Tracy. On September 2, 1960, he married his wife of 56 years, Marjorie A. Conner, and she survives. David is also survived by his son, Larry Tracy of Morristown; daughter, Donna Tracy of Morristown; grandson, David Mitchell Tracy of Morristown; sisters, Martha Sutherland of Greenfield and Margaret Reber and husband, Tom, of Morristown; brother, Bill Tracy of Morristown; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Phillip Tracy. David graduated from Morristown High School in 1957, and attended Purdue University. He was currently the owner and operator of the Bluebird Restaurant in Morristown. He previously worked for 12 years at Commercial Credit, 15 years for Edinburgh State Bank, and nine years at Grammer Industries in Grammer. David was formerly a member of the Jaycees in Columbus. He enjoyed boating, bowling, riding motorcycles and black powder firearms. David was very active in Derby Days in Morristown, and was one of the founders of the Adult Derby. He was also a member of “The Round Table Club.” Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the funeral home, with Bill Farmer officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morristown Visionary Committee, P.O. Box 110, Morristown, Indiana 46161.
