David Lee Hoff

David Lee Hoff, 69, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born July 23, 1946, in Shelbyville, the son of Paul Gordon and Francis Pauline (Nigh) Hoff. He married Charlene K. Smith on October 30, 1965, and she survives. David is also survived by his sons, David Hoff Jr. and wife, Stacy, and Bryan Hoff and wife, Starlene, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Harry Hoff and wife, Donna, of Geneva and Paul F. Hoff of Shelbyville; sisters, Paula Childers and husband, Ray, of Indianapolis and Suesanne Burris and husband, Dennis, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Dylan Hoff, Macaylee Hoff, Kaiden Grissom, Karsin Hoff and Karleigh Hoff; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sally Jo Hoff (twin to Bryan); and sister, India Lunsford. David attended West Street United Methodist Church. He served in the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972. David worked at Ryobi from 1986 until retiring in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching NASCAR races. His family was the most important thing to him. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the funeral home, with Mike Smith officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby County Public Library, Genealogy Department, 57 W. Broadway St., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
