David Lee Pogue Sr., 58, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, August 25, 2008, at his home.
Born October 23, 1949, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Curtis Garfield and Georgeianna (Cox) Pogue. He married Patricia Ann Keihn on February 21, 1969, and she survives.
Other survivors include his son, David (wife, Chrissy) Pogue II of Shelbyville; daughters, Mary Morrow and Jo Ann (husband, Joey) Ferguson, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Wayne Pogue, Tom Pogue, Jimmy Pogue, Jerry Pogue, all of Shelbyville, and Mike Pogue of Rushville; sisters, Gladys Bosse and Anna Lisby, both of Shelbyville, and Kay Ray of Hagerstown; and granchildren, Devan Pogue, Hailey Pogue, Layne Pogue, Kimberly Morrow, Melissa Morrow, Shontaya Hodge and Tristin Ferguson, all of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Teresa Lisby.
Mr. Pogue had been employed at Kroger Bakery in Indianapolis for 18 years. He previously was employed at Pittsburgh Plate Glass, General Electric and more recently for TransMed and Hauk Spencer Medicar.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Pogue had attended Shelbyville High School.
He was a member of Morristown American Legion, National Rifle Association and North American Hunters Association.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor David Humphrey officiating.
Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the military honor guard.
