David Ray Klapper

David Ray Klapper, 55, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born March 27, 1961, in Shelbyville, the son of Edward Ray and Hilda Joan (Imel) Klapper. David is survived by his sister, Kathy Ann Klapper of Shelbyville; and brother, Steven Mark Klapper of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his parents. David graduated from Shelbyville High School. He was a member of Lewis Creek Wesleyan Church. David formerly worked as a production line specialist at Shares Finishing Service. He enjoyed fishing, firearms, World War I and World War II memorabilia. David was also a life and endowment member of the National Rifle Association. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the funeral home, with Rev. David Gates officiating. Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
