David Scott Tomeo, 73, of Indianapolis, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at his residence.
He was born September 17, 1943, in Longmont, Colorado, the son of John F. and Marian (Meiks) Tomeo.
In 1989, in Knox, Indiana, he married Betty J. Zechiel, and she survives.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law, William Zechiel and wife, Teri; niece, Samantha Zechiel; and brother in spirit, Richard Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1962. He also graduated University of Colorado in 1966, where he was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity.
He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville.
David retired from the Indianapolis Finance Center, as a computer specialist, in 2009, with 16 years of service. Prior to working at the Finance Center he worked at the Computer Science Corp. in Indianapolis, D.F.A.S., S.A.S.C., R.C.A., I.N. B. and American States Insurance.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan, Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue in Indianapolis; and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at noon at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
