Dean Errol Groves, 55, of Indianapolis, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Oct. 29, 1950, in Noblesville, he was the son of Edgar Allen and Velera Mae (Newkirk) Groves. He married Kathy J. Macy on Jan. 6, 1984, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Matthew (special friend, Lauren) Groves and Nathan Groves, both of Indianapolis; and his parents-in-law, T.S. and Marie Macy of Morristown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ann Skene and Donna Groves.
Mr. Groves was an electrical engineer with Duke Energy for more than 35 years, working out of the Carmel office.
He graduated in 1969 from high school in Sheridan. He received a bachelor of science degree in electrical technology from Purdue University and associates degrees from ITT Technical Institute and Indiana University, Purdue University, Indianapolis.
Mr. Groves attended Trinity Wesleyan Church in Indianapolis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Little Blue River Friends Cemetery in Rush County.
