Deborah Jean “Deb” Morningstar, 50, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.
She was born March 4, 1967, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Frank and Madaline (Giltner) Listenberger.
She is survived by her mother of Shelbyville; daughter, Tawni Morningstar of Shelbyville; sister, Tammy Shearer and husband, Gary, of Shelbyville; several aunts and uncles including Bob Fleener and Thelma VanSickle; nephews, Adam Slinker and Andrew Slinker; niece, Zoe Shearer; and several cousins and close friends.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father and several other close family members.
She graduated from Triton Central High School in 1985, and went to Aristotle College to become a medical assistant.
Deborah loved her career as a medical assistant at Major Health Partners, where she worked for 27 years. She enjoyed helping and caring for the patients and her co-workers.
She also enjoyed reading, animals, going to flea markets, horseback riding and scuba diving.
Deborah was an avid Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds and Indiana University basketball fan.
She loved her family and friends, cherishing the time she spent with them.
Deborah also leaves behind her cat, Ichabod and white dove, Gracie.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
