Delmas Luther Parsons, 91, of Shelbyville, Indiana passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.
He was born March 8, 1927, in Elliott County, Kentucky, the son of Luther Martin and Nancy Jane (Oney) Parsons.
Delmas is survived by his children, Gary Parsons and wife, Linda, of Springboro, Ohio, Karen Barlow and husband, Robb, of Shelbyville, John Parsons and wife, Gwendy, of Somerville, Ohio, Ken Parsons, and wife, Peg, of Morgantown, and Kaye Ullmer and husband, Kenneth, of Riverside, Ohio; sisters, Delores Staley of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Mary Pickering of Kannapolis, North Carolina; brother, William Parsons of West Milton, Ohio; grandchildren, Randy Parsons, Gary Parsons, Jessica Kirk, Robbyn Everette, Adam Barlow,, Kari Justice, Jacob Parsons, Britton Parsons, Letitia Foley, Neil Parsons, Anthony Ullmer, Christopher Ullmer, Matthew Ullmer and Jeremy Ullmer; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Quentin Parsons, Clint Edward “Ed” Parsons and Gabriel Parsons; sister, Alma Lucas; and his grandson, Ross Parsons.
Delmas was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
He was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church in Franklin, Ohio.
Delmas worked as a pipefitter for 25 years and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters and MES Union Local 392 for over 60 years.
He loved the time he spent with this children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Delmas was known for helping is friends and neighbors.
Graveside services will be at Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook, Kentucky.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
