Delores Marie Cox

Delores Marie Cox, 84, of Rushville passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at HomeView Center of Franklin. Born March 7, 1925 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of William Esta and Stella June (Winterrowd) Pile. She married William Robert "Bob" Cox on October 27, 1957, he preceded her in death on November 19, 1997. Survivors include her brother, Morris Dale Pile of Marietta; several nieces and nephews, including her caregivers, Mickey and Jane Pile. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Marion C. Pile and Dallas Wayne Pile. Mrs. Cox had formerly worked at GC Murphy's as a clerk and also at Sandman Brothers. She was a housewife and loved to sew. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Church of the First Born in Edinburgh. She graduated from Mount Auburn High School in 1943. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., with funeral services at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the First Born, 5866 South 425 West, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
