Deloris "Dee" Wickizer, 81, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010.
Born April 3, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Morris R. and Alice (Andrews) Moxley. She married Donald J. Wickizer, Jr. on June 18, 1949, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2006.
Survivors include her sons, David Wickizer of Indianapolis and Daniel (wife, Cynthia) Wickizer of Shelbyville; daughter, Diane (husband, Tim) Barrick of Shelbyville; sister, Janet Smith of Oakmont, Pennsylvania; and grandchildren, Stephanie Bennett, Matthew Wickizer, Benjamin Wickizer and Shelley Wickizer.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Justin Barrick.
Mrs. Wickizer was a homemaker and managed a fabric store from 1974 to 1984. She also was a seamstress, making vests for the Shelby Community Band, sewing for May Festival and making wedding dresses.
She volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Mrs. Wickizer graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1950, with a bachelor's degree in home economics.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Wickizer was an avid bridge player.
Gathering of Family and Friends and Friends of Family will be from 5 to 8 pm, Friday, October 15, 2010 at Occasions Banquet Hall, 415 East Hendricks Street in Shelbyville, Indiana.
