Dennis Dale Dixon, 58, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
He was born June 13, 1959 in Shelbyville, the son of Dallas and Evelyn Gene (Patterson) Dixon. He married Gwendolyn Bergen Pass on August 23, 1986, and she preceded him in death.
Dennis is survived by his sisters, Marilyn Mingee of Bloomington, Cathy Bowers and husband, Paul, Rhonda Lightner, Kerry Fuller and husband, Gary, all of Shelbyville, Doretta Gahimer and husband, Phil, of Manilla, and Sara Martin of Colorado; brothers, Dallas David Dixon, Dana Dixon and wife, Cheryl, and Terry Dixon and wife, Darlene, all of Shelbyville; brother-in-law, Jack Montgomery of Shelbyville; step-son, Travis Pass and wife, Glenda; step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Nancy M. Randolph, Janice M. Montgomery and Mary Walker; and step-daughter, Amy Pass Sanders.
Dennis attended Shelbyville High School, and later received his GED in 1986.
He served in the National Guard from 1978 to 1991.
Dennis worked at KN Platech and P.K. USA of Shelbyville.
He enjoyed helping people, music, fishing and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dennis was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the funeral home, with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Interment will be at Orange North Cemetery.
