Dennis Lee DeWitt

Dennis Lee DeWitt, 70, of Fairland, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1946, in Indianapolis, the son of Herschel and Flora (Manning) DeWitt. Dennis is survived by his sisters, Kay VanMarkwyk of Fort Wayne, and Sandra Cottey of Indianapolis; brother, John Dugle of Colorado; step-sons, Rusty Brandenburg and Donnie Brandenburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Price; and brothers, Eldon DeWitt and Jerry DeWitt. Dennis was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during the Vietnam era. He was an electrician, having worked at St. Francis Hospital and the former RCA. Dennis enjoyed carpentry. A celebration of life will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Grace Assembly of God, 6822 N. US 31, in New Whiteland, IN 46184, followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. Services have been Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
