Dennis Lee Runshe, 58, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his residence.
He was born July 28, 1957, in Shelbyville, the son of William L. and Betty M. (Tennell) Runshe.
Dennis is survived by his father, William L. Runshe and wife, Joyce, of Shelbyville; son, Lee W. Runshe of Whiteland; step-daughters, Arlene and Christina; brothers, Danny Runshe and wife, Jane, and Darryl Runshe and wife, Trenna, both of Shelbyville; stepsister, Kathleen Wampler and husband, Michael, of Shelbyville; stepbrothers, Michael Walburn of Bowling Green, Ohio and Steven Walburn of Villa Rica, Georgia; a grandson, Tegan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his dog, Sheba.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Dennis graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1976.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Dennis was an active member of Shelby Lodge No. 28 F&AM; Baldwin Commandary No. 2, Shelby Chapter No. 20, Emil Steffey Council No. 3; Shelby County Shrine; Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. He was also a member of Fraternal Order of Police, National Muzzleloader Association and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Dennis was a forklift operator at Knauf Insulation, with over 35 years of service.
He was an Eagle Scout.
Dennis was a taxidermist and loved to hunt, especially deer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with Masonic Ritual at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Morningstar officiating.
Interment will be at Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Johnson County.
