Dennis Reed "Bud" Talbert

Dennis Reed "Bud" Talbert, 73, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Morristown Manor in Morristown. Born August 27, 1937, in Rush County, Indiana, he was the son of Loren and Dorcas (Reed) Talbert. He married Claire Kay Morris on February 16, 1958, and she survives. Other survivors include his sons, Brian (wife, Sherry) Talbert of Shelbyville, Tom (wife, Diana) Talbert of Orleans and Bruce (wife, Michelle) Talbert of Kent, Washington; daughter, Hope (husband, Jon) Nett of Bedford; daughter-in-law, Susan Williams Talbert of Zionsville; brother, Joe Talbert of Morristown; sister, Elma Six of Greenfield; grandchildren, Josh (wife, Danielle) Talbert, Lissa Talbert, Sara Talbert, Aaron Talbert, Katie Talbert and Kristin Talbert. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Talbert and sister, Bonnie Adams. Mr. Talbert graduated from Morristown High School in 1955. He was a farmer and formerly owned Bud's Excavation Company from 1969 until retiring in 1997. Mr. Talbert was a member of Gwynneville United Brethren Church, Morristown Masonic Lodge, Morristown Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Morristown Lions Club. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 East North Street in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Monday, February 28, 2011 at the funeral home, with Peggy Caldwell officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charities of the donor's choice.
