Derek Neil Laycock, 35, Fairland, passed away October 21, 2007. He was born December 11, 1971 in Indianapolis. Mr. Laycock was an independent construction contractor for 15 years, he was also a videographer with Racin'D.O. He loved all types of motorsports. His love of racing started early in life. His favorite was the local Indiana and USAC Sprint Car. Mr. Laycock was a family man, including being an assistant football coach with his son at Triton Central. The family asks memorial contributions may be made to the Derek Laycock Trust Fund for the education of his children. He is survived by his father and wife, Dan O. (Druzella) Laycock of Indianapolis; mother, Lynda Bowman of Fairland; son, Corbin R. Laycock of Fairland, daughter Sabbatha R. Laycock of Fairland; fiance', Amanda H. Ware of Fairland; stepdaughters, Danielle Ware and Kali Ware, both of Fairland;stepsons, Kyler and Carson Ware, both of Fairland; brothers, Jason Ross Laycock of Anderson and Newt Laycock of Indianapolis; sisters, Katherine Jean Laycock of Indianapolis, and Teri Virginia Laycock and Danielle Marie Laycock, both of Avon; stepsisters, Jennifer Albrecht of Brownsburg and Allison Marie Bailey of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 24 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
