Dina Willemina Vysma

August 5, 1930 — April 7, 2011

Dina Willemina Vysma, 80, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Shelbyville. Born August 5, 1930, in Breskens, The Netherlands, she was the daughter of Jacobus Johannes and Maria Suzanne (Maas) deFouw. She married Dick Henry Vysma on April 29, 1955, and he survives. Other survivors include her daughters, Marianna Vysma of The Hague, The Netherlands and Ingrid (husband, Walter) Manley of Richmond, Virginia; son, Ronald (wife, Christina) Vysma of Indianapolis; brohter Adriaan deFouw of The Netherlands; and grandsons, Cooper Vysma and Jude Vysma. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jacob deFouw. Mrs. Vysma immigrated to the United States in March of 1968 from The Netherlands; one of her first homes was in Linthicum, Maryland, where they met their American family, Jim and Pat Duffy and their seven children. They later moved to Shelbyville from Pottstown, Pennsylvania in 1985. She was formerly employed at Bank One in Shelbyville from 1986 until retiring in 1991. Mrs. Vysma was a member of First United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Women's Club and P.E.O. Sisterhood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 34 W. Washington St., Shelbyville, Indiana.
