Donald E. Allison, 80, of Beech Grove, died June 3, 2007, at Beech Grove Meadows Nursing Home in Beech Grove. Born March 25, 1927, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Harry C. and Grace Allison. He married Lois B. Pierson on October 18, 1953, she preceded him in death. Survivors include daughter, Julie (Mark) Richart of Beech Grove; sister, Catherine McNew of Shelbyville; brother, Harry Allison of Crown Point; granddaughter, Allison Richart; and grandson, Aaron Richart. Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Mary Sweet, Marily J. Grubb, and Carolyn Grundrum. He was a lifelong resident of Shelby County until he moved to Beech Grove in 2004. Mr. Allison was in a management position at The Kieblers Trucking Company in Indianapolis. He was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Allison graduated from Shelbyville in 1946 and attended Ball State University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Chapel, 819 S. Harrison Street. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
