Donald Irven Muldoon, 79, of Edinburgh, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005.
Born March 12, 1926, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Mabel C. (Stillabower) He married Joyce E. Bland on May 22, 1953, and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Marlene A. Muldoon (fiance, James Perry) of Shelbyville; one brother, Wayne (wife, Alice) Muldoon of Edinburgh; two sisters, Velma (husband, Robert) Lain and Donna Garrison, both of Edinburgh; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Muldoon and Darrell Muldoon.
Mr. Muldoon had been a farmer, retiring in 1985 and also had been a school bus driver for Mount Auburn and Southwestern Consolidated Schools, retiring in 1980.
He graduated in 1944.
Mr. Muldoon was a former fire chief for Marietta Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, stationed in Japan.
Mr. Muldoon was a member of Mount Auburn Christian Church, where he served as an elder.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bryan Trotter officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, in Shelby County, with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.
