Donald Keith Addis

Donald Keith Addis, 59, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 20, 1955, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Lester F. and Betty J. (Morgan) Addis. He married Rita Kesterman on September 3, 1977, and she survives. Other survivors include his mother of Zanesville; sons, Tony Addis and wife, Leslie, of Evansville, Brandon Addis and wife, Beth, and Jared Addis and wife, Lisa, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Cheryl Tignor of Zanesville and Kathy Taisey and husband, Bill, of Dresden, Ohio; brothers, Rick Addis and wife, Karen, of Zanesville and Scott Addis and wife, Brandi, of Springfield; grandchildren, Patrick, Justin, Jonah, Jonathon, Eden, Elijah, Logan and Austin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Donald graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1973. He retired from the Carpenter Union Local No. 60 after 15 years of service in 2009. Donald was a member of the Sons of the Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping. Donald was also preceded in death by his dog, Rodger and survived by his dog, Choya. A gathering will be held at the Shelbyville American Legion Post No. 70 on Monday, January 5th. Family and friends may call anytime between 1:30 and 6 p.m. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
