Donald Ray Wittmer, 67, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Regency Place, in Greenfield.
Born June 15, 1938, in Evansville, he was the son of the late Harry Donald and Helen (Wolfe) Wittmer.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura (husband, Paul) Freese of Batesville and Laurene Wittmer of North Vernon; one sister, Mary Ellen (husband, Norb) Hartmann of Fairfield, Ohio; one brother, Charles (wife, Miki) Wittmer of Chicago, Ill.; and close friend, Dan Hunt and his family.
Mr. Wittmer lived and worked in Shelbyville for several years.
He retired in 1998 from City of Shelbyville Waste Water Treatment Plant. Prior to that he was a teacher in Chicago, Ill., Versailles, Osgood at Jac-Cen-Del High School, Holton and Lawrenceburg schools.
Mr. Wittmer graduated from Evansville University, with a bachelor of arts degree; and from Indiana University, with a master?s degree.
He was a member of Moose Lodge and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Visitation will be fro 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Maple Grove Cemetery, in Boonville.
