Donald Scott Richardson

Donald Scott Richardson, 69, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. He was born February 28, 1945, in Santa Cruz, California, the son of James Richardson and Shirley (White) Denslow. He married Nancy E. Chueden on May 30, 1963, and she preceded him in death on September 12, 1993. Survivors include his companion, Betty Hastings of Shelbyville; sons, William Scott Richardson and wife, Janet of Greenfield and Brian Keith Richardson and wife, Desire’e of Huntley, Illinois; and grandchildren, Alex, John David “JD”, Daniel, Jacob and Noah. He was preceded in death by his parents. Don graduated from Triton Central High School in 1963. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie and Moose Lodges. Don retired from Mayflower in 1997, after 31 years of service. He enjoyed feeding the fish, working outdoors and on his tractor. He also enjoyed listening to Indy and NASCAR races. A gathering of friends will be at a later date. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairland Fire Department.
