Donna Mae Sipe, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Indianapolis.
She was born February 6, 1931, in Yorktown, the daughter of Merle and Edith (Miller) Swanger. On December 24, 1950, she married her husband of 61 years, Dohn C. Sipe, and he preceded her in death on October 16, 2012.
Survivors include her daughters, Dani Pfaff and D’Lisa Struck, both of Indianapolis; son, Dean Sipe and wife, Naomi, of Louisville, Kentucky; sisters, Kathleen Davis of Muncie and Betty Williams of Florida; and grandchildren, Katherine Jourdan Struck, Amelia Sipe and Elliot Sipe.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Donna graduated from Yorktown High School in 1949, and attended Ball State University for two years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Donna was a member of PEO, Tri Kappa and Merrill Circle. She volunteered and served on the board of Meals on Wheels, she had received her vest to be a volunteer at Major Hospital.
She enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, gardening and working in the yard.
Donna loved the time she spent with family and friends.
Gathering of friends will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. Jim Cherry officiating.
