Donna Sue Montgomery, 72, of Waldron, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Franciscan St. Francis Health.
She was born March 16, 1941, in Milford, Indiana. Donna was the daughter of Bernard and Evelyn Louise (Simpson) Cole. She married James E. Montgomery on June 11, 1960, and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughters, Debra (husband, Dean) Barton of Waldron and Mary (husband, Robert) Vandiver of Fairland; son, James Michael (wife, Andrea) Montgomery of Shelbyville; brothers, John Cole of Shelbyville, Bernard (wife, Janet) Cole of Fishers and Bob Cole of Indianapolis; sister, Anita Landwerlen of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Corey (wife, Carrie) Barton, Desha (husband, Kyle) Schneider, Jessica Montgomery, Mariah Caffee, Kelli Barton and Nathan Vandiver; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Cole and one great-grandchild.
She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1960.
Donna was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church.
She was a homemaker and had worked in the cafeteria at Hendricks Elementary for three years and as a cook at Amoco for eight years, retiring in 2005.
Donna enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with her family and friends on the phone.
She loved animals and leaves behind her dog, Bella.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the funeral home, with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
