Doral Eugene Hunt, 80, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Waldron Health and Rehab.
Born April 30, 1930, in Morristown, he was the son of Raymond and Anna Lee (Nolley) Hunt. He married Margaret Ann Groenert on June 2, 1951, and she preceded him in death on January 15, 1996.
Survivors include his sons, Robert J. (wife, Carol) Hunt of Fountaintown and Dan (wife, Kim) Hunt of Shelbyville; daughters, Lucinda (husband, Kenny) Fenton of Shelbyville, Jenny (husband, Ed) Finchum of Speedway and Evelyn Sosbe of Madison, Wisconsin; sisters, Bonnie Cooksey of Fountaintown and Gloria Burris of Morristown; grandchildren, Scott (wife, Raynita) Hunt of Marysville, Tennessee, Shawn (wife, Dr. Diane) Hunt of Kouts, Indiana, Zach (wife, Autumn) Hunt, Margaret Ann Fenton, Rebecca (husband, Nate) Batton, Amy Fenton, Ray (wife, Emily) Hunt and Randy Hunt, all of Shelbyville, Dusty Hunt, Richard (wife, Wendy) Cass, Samuel (wife, Cheryl) Fenton and Kenny Jr. (wife, Elena) Fenton, all of Indianapolis and Rhonda (husband, Matt) Hart of Avon; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, LeRoy Brewer and great-grandson, Justin Hunt.
Mr. Hunt owned and operated Hunt's Shell Station from 1973 to 1993. He was also a former truck driver and school bus driver for Shelbyville Eastern Schools.
He had attended Morristown High School.
Mr. Hunt was formerly a member of the National Guard, Sugar Creek Masonic Lodge of Fairland, Scottish Rite-Valley of Indianapolis, American Legion, Boy Scouts of America, Murat Shrine Temple of Indianapolis and Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 73, where he was past patron.
He was a Boy Scout Leader, Explorer Post, and a ham radio operator, WB90KB.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Friday with Masonic rites conducted at 7 pm and from 10 to 11 am Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
