Doris Tucker

Doris Tucker, 95 of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Born April 30, 1914, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose (Gephart) Pruitt. She married William H. Tucker on August 25, 1931, and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1993. She is survived by her son, Michael D. (wife, Margo) Tucker of Germantown, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Sandra Tucker of Hope; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Billy P. Tucker and sisters, Georgina Groves and Clarice Sanders. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Marietta Methodist Church. She was a sales clerk at J.C. Penneys in Shelbyville for 20 years, retiring in 1984. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 s. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steven Gross officiating. Interment will be in Miller Cemetery.
