Dorothy A. Baughman, 79, of Shelbyville died Friday, April 20, 2007, at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born March 9, 1928, in Swandale, W. Va., she was the daughter of Ervin and Gertrude (Butcher) Rogers. She married Millard A. Baughman on June 13, 1954, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1988.
Survivors include her children, Don Baughman and Ron Baughman, both of Fairland, James Baughman of Shelbyville, Brenda Clark of Columbus, Judy Whitesell of Carmel, Kathy Huffman of Butlerville and Ginger Bode of Columbus; brother, Virgil Rogers of Wilmington, Del.; sisters, Mary Nickels and Burnice Carner, both of Omaha, Neb., Opal Deiroff of Beckley, W. Va., and Delcie Keen of Charleston, W. Va.; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Baughman had lived in Shelbyville since 1961.
She had been a cabinet finisher and sprayer with the former Altimil Corp. and Hickory Furniture; and had also worked in the kitchen at Shelbyville High School and the Eagles Lodge.
Mrs. Baughman was a member of Hope's Point Baptist Church and Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Edwin Mohr officiating.
Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery in Shelby County.
