Dorothy Burns

Dorothy Burns, 89, of Franklin, formerly of Boggstown, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Franklin United Methodist Home in Franklin. She was born March 14, 1925, in Liberty, Kentucky, the daughter of Frank and Vida (Haste) Daniels. She married Kenneth H. Burns, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1990. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Patti Schalk of Elkton, Maryland, Kathy Harting and husband, Steve of McCordsville and Kim Reeves of Columbus; a son, Jeff Burns and wife, Kizme of Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Burns; sister, JoeAnn Seal; and a brother, Dallas Daniels. Mrs. Burns moved to Boggstown in 1955, and has resided in Greenfield for 15 years prior to moving to Franklin. She retired from Western Electric. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p .m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
