Dorothy E. Hamilton, 82, of Greenfield passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Brandywine Manor in Greenfield.
Born July 2, 1925, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Raymond and Maude M. (Tindall) Wainscott. She married Edward W. Hamilton on May 29, 1945, and he preceded her in death on February 13, 1991.
Survivors include her daughters, Dr. Susan (husband, Dr. Joseph Treadaway) Hamilton of Houston, Texas, and Linda (husband, Lee) Smith of Marietta; sons, Rodney (wife, Dawn) Hamilton of Greenfield and Ed (wife, Betty) Hamilton of Bloomington; brother Raymond Wainscott Jr. of Campbellsburg, Ky., Donald Wainscott of Turners Station, Ky., and Larry Wainscott of Eminence, Ky.; sisters, Emma Lipman of Shelbyville, Ky., Anna Kisner of New Castle, Ky., Ruth Dodge of Mountain Home, Idaho and Lula Rogers of Dixon, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and close friend, John Keedy of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joseph Wainscott; and sister, Ruby McAllister.
She loved her family and loved to fish.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funera Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at a later date.
