Dorothy Harrell Pike, 94, of Indianapolis, passed at Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Waldron Health and Rehab.
Born June 8, 1916, in Brandywine Township, Shelby County, Indiana, she was the daughter of William Virgil and Sylvia (Helms) Harrell. She married Carean Pike on September 12, 1941, and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1989.
Survivors include nieces, Judy (Harrell) (husband, Norman) Meal of Rushville and Terri (Harrell) Wood of Waldron; nephews, William "Billy" (wife, Millie) Harrell of Traverse City, Michigan and Joel (wife, Rosie) Comstock of Greenwood and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Pike worked for P. R. Mallory in Indianapolis for 38 years, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and the Moose Auxiliary on East 16th Street in Indianapolis.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 pm Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 3 pm Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Gwen Pew officiating.
Interment will be in Brandywine Cemetery.
