Dorothy Hirschauer Frost

Dorothy Hirschauer Frost, 84, of Shelbyville died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at Major Hospital. Born Feb. 18, 1922, in St. Joseph, Mo., she was the daughter of Albert and Pansy R. Ford. She married John Richard Hirschauer on Aug. 30, 1941, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1988. She married George M. Frost in November of 1998, and he survives. Other survivors include one son, Richard Dean Hirschauer of Shelbyville; two daughters, Sharon (husband, Richard) Kiefer and Sheila (husband, Jon) Hilt, both of Shelbyville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Cravens Ford. Mrs. Frost spent her early years as a homemaker and later working for J.G. DePrez Co. and Tippecanoe Press. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, St. Anne's Altar Society and St. Joe Social Club. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the rosary recited at 3:45 p.m., at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
