Dorothy J. Munger, 94, of Urbana, Illinois passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 at Carle Hospital in Urbana. Born November 25, 1917, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Raymond E. and Golda (Ice) Munger. Survivors include her brother, Raymond F. (wife, Harriet) Munger of Shelbyville; nephews, Bill Munger and Steve Munger, both of Shelbyville, Jeff Munger and Tim Munger, both of Greenwood; niece, Pat Walker of Traverse City, Michigan; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Ms. Munger graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1936 and continued her education at McMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, where she received her bachelor's degree. She received her master's degree at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. She was employed at Champaign Central High School for 38 years as a teacher and department head and retired in 1977 as dean of girls. Ms. Munger was a member of Wesley Methodist Church, Delta Pi Epsilon, Delta Kappa Gamma, Champaign County Retired Teachers Association and the Covenant Hospital Auxiliary. She also was a longtime volunteer at Matthew House 18. Private family services will be observed. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S.
