Dorothy L. Page, 95, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. Born Oct. 10, 1910, in Brooksburg, she was the daughter of Friedly and Mary Etta (Blighton) Elston. She married Gordon Page on March 25, 1945, and he preceded her in death in November of 1973. Survivors include one brother, Robert C. (wife, Pat) Elston of Milroy; one sister, Frieda Zeller of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Eleanor McLaughlin, Mary Ray and Kate Stuart; and one brother, Donald Elston. Mrs. Page had been the owner and operator of a grocery store on Vine Street. She had built Elston Motel with her father, which she owned and operated in 1951. She had attended Vevay High School. Mrs. Page was a member of West Street United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the women?s society of Christian service. She was a past member of the Current Topic Club. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Perry Richards officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
