Dorothy Cordelia Lindsay, 89, of Morristown passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Morristown Manor.
Born February 3, 1919, in Rush County, she was the daughter of Cary E. and Elizabeth (Kessler) mcCabe. She married Ralph D. Lindsay in 1937, and he preceded her in death in June of 1999.
Survivors include her son, Rick (wife, Connie Bolser) Lindsay of Shelbyville; daughters, Carol Fuller and Joan Thompson, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Nathanael (wife, Racheal) Lindsay of Panama City, Florida, Anna Lindsay of Salem, Illinois, Jeff (wife, Debbie) Fuller of Waldron, Robert (wife, Tonyia) Fuller of Rushville, Gary (wife, Kerry) Fuller of Shelbyville and Sharlene (husband, Mark) Puckett of Manilla; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Nellie E. Stanley, Thelma Jackson and Mary Swegman.
Mrs. Lindsay had resided in Morristown since 1937.
She was a homemaker and in her earlier years employed at the Morristown Canning Factory, Kopper Kettle, a bakery and had written a column for the Morristown Messenger entitled "Newsies by Dorothy."
Mrs. Lindsay had been a den mother for the Cub Scouts.
She was a member of Morristown United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Services and a Sunday school teacher for young boys and girls for many years.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
