Dorothy N. Kaster, 83, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
She was born October 23, 1934, to Mildred and Earl Neu. She was married to Edward Wells, who preceded her in death, and to James Kaster who also preceded her in death.
She attended Shelbyville High School and made many friends over the years working in Shelbyville. She worked for her father for over 25 years as an office secretary at the Eagles Lodge. She also worked at the Moose Lodge, Liquor Cabinet, and Rasner Motel.
Dottie is survived by daughters, Debbie (DeP) Ewing of Shelbyville and Dee (Jim) Carter, of Indianapolis; sons, David (Sandy) Wells, Ted (Renae) Wells, and Tom Wells, all of Shelbyville. One daughter, Terri Ayers, preceded her in death.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Jennifer Dennis, Andrea Payne, Grant Hoefener, Dillon Hoefener, Davy Wells, Joshua Wells, Jason Whitten, Nathan Wells, Jason Wells, Brittny Wickizer, Scott Wells, Eric Wells, Greg Harley, and Leslie Ayers, along with 20 great-grandchildren.
Dottie enjoyed family gatherings, card and bingo games, working puzzles, Wednesday's at the casino, and she wore the crown for Best Scrabble Player in the family. She had a generous heart and was a champion for St Jude's Children's Hospital.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville at a later date.
