Douglas Allan "Doug" Walton, 43, of Shelbyville died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Major Hospital after a brief illness. Born May 21, 1963, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Carl E. and Helen (Curry) Walton. Survivors include his mother; son, Douglas Allan Walton Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; daughters, Sarah Lorainne Walton and Emily Sue Walton, both of Orlando, and Mary Kathryn Walton of Shelbyville; brothers, Carl E. (wife, Sherri) Walton Jr., Darrell E. (wife, Elaine) Walton and Roger J. (wife, Patricia) Walton, all of Shelbyville, Kim Michael (wife, Chrissy) Walton of Fairland and Bradley David Walton of Waldron; and sisters, Linda Kay (husband, Jack) McDaniel, Terry Joan (husband, Harry) Pursley and Kristina Irene (husband, Ernie) Richards, all of Shelbyville, and Pamela May (husband, Pat) Bergen of Rushville. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Carla Sue Phelps. Mr. Walton formerly had been employed at Knauf in construction. Prior to that he was employed at Pizza Den. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul D. Kirk officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery in Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Doug Walton Memorial Fund, in care of T.R. Pizza, 20 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
