Douglas Allan "Doug" Tillison

Douglas Allan “Doug” Tillison, 62, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Fairland, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2017 at his residence. He was born May 27, 1955, in Indianapolis, the son of Max W. Tillison and Betty Lou (Speer) Tillison Stucker. Doug is survived by his daughters, Carrie Carmody and husband, Jack, of Chapin, South Carolina, and Breck Oliver of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister, Dee A. Johnson of Fairland; and grandchildren, Chase Carmody, Caroline Carmody, William Carmody, Kaitlyn Oliver, Savannah Oliver and Owen Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Max Gregory Tillison and Roger Dale Stucker; and step-father, Dale Stucker. Doug graduated from Triton Central High School in 1973 and received his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Ball State University. He was a member of Fairland Baptist Church. Doug was an insurance agent for Federated Insurance for 30 years, retiring in 2010. He worked in Atlanta, Georgia, Indianapolis and retired in Mount Dora, Florida. He enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Jack Carmody and Yale Schalk officiating. Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
