Douglas Brian "Doug" Diefenderfer, 46, of Morristown passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born March 28, 1962, in Greenfield, he was the son of Richard Dale and Erma Joan (Bennett) Diefenderfer. He married Kathy M. Cyphers on July 6, 1991, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Jasmine Nichole (husband, William) Cramer of New Castle and Courtney Danielle Diefenderfer of Morristown; son, Brian Douglas Diefenderfer of Morristown; stepson, Randall James Schreur of Sandusky, Ohio; brothers, Richard B. (wife, Patti) Diefenderfer and Donovan Lynn (wife, Sheila) Diefenderfer, both of Morristown; and grandchildren, Nathan Cramer, Johnathan Cramer and Rachael Bramer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Sheryl Diane Diefenderfer.
Mr. Diefenderfer was an operator with Miller Pipeline, where he also had worked from 1988 to 2001. From 2001 to 2008, he was employed with Milestone.
He had attended Eastern Hancock School, graduated from Morristown High School in 1980 and earned a certified mechanic license from ITT Technical Institute.
Mr. Diefenderfer was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Morristown, Union I.O.U.O.E. No. 103; Indiana Flywheels in Morrisotwn, where he was vice president; DeMoley in Greenfield; and a former member of the Greenfield Eagles Lodge.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a John Deere fanatic and enjoyed working on cars, motocycles and trikes.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St., Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastors Glenn Harding and Wayne Scott officiating.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
