Drucilla “Dru” Dennison, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
She was born August 20, 1938, in Owen County, Kentucky, the daughter of William Howard and Mable L. (Orsborn) Smith. On January 14, 1966, she married her husband of 52 years, Thomas L. “Tom” Dennison, and he survives.
In addition to Tom, Dru is survived by her sons, Kevin Dennison of Waldron, and David D. Dennison and wife, Terri, of Shelbyville; daughters, Dee A. Thoman and husband, Eric, and Marilyn M. DeWitt, both of Shelbyville, and Tammy A. Wagner and husband, Mike, of Rushville; sisters, Helen Morningstar of Shelbyville, and Brenda Williams and husband, Marvin, of Murphy, Texas; daughter-in-law, Mamie Welch; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Harold Smith.
Dru formerly worked at TRW Cinch for over 30 years, Compton Dairy for eight years, and Village Pantry for seven years. She retired in 2003.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and taking care of her flowers. Dru loved spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
