E. Patrice"Pat" Reed

July 7, 1928 — December 17, 2007

E. Patrice "Pat" Reed, 79, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, December 17, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Indianapolis. Born July 7, 1928, in Marion County, she was the daughter of Ray E. and Irma L. (Conley) Fisher. She married Jesse Gene Reed on October 22, 1971, and he survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Bonnie (husband, Speedy) Cole of Fairland; sons, Jerry Schantz of Franklin and Douglas Schantz of Louisville, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepdaughter, Sandy Mahin; stepson, Michael Reed; two brothers; and four sisters. Mrs. Reed had been employed with KCL for 15 years, retiring in 1991. She also had been employed at Robert's Studio of Styles for nine years and forever Slim for seven years. She graduated from Boggstown High School. Mrs. Reed was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Evanfelical United Church of Christ, 2630 S. Miller St. A gathering of friends will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Linda Frische-Mouri officiating. Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ, 2630 S. Miller St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
