E. Regis Murphy

E. Regis Murphy, 93, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Major Hospital. Born June 27, 1918, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of William and Agnes (Leonard) Colbert. She married Harry J. Murphy on October 27, 1941, and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2009. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (husband, Don) Wickens of Greensburg; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two special nieces, Joan and Carol. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, William Murphy; sister, Margaret Exford; and a brother, Edward Colbert. Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society and the Villager's Garden Club. Regis graduated from St. Joseph High School in Pittsfield in 1936. Visitation will be from 10:15 to 11 am, Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway in Shelbyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 South Harrison Street in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
