Earl W. Lancaster, 74, of Fairland passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Waldron Health and Rehab.
Born April 8, 1938, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Chester and Wrethal (Crafton) Lancaster. He married Marilyn Bennett on November 6, 1960, and she survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Scott Alan (wife, Heather) Lancaster of Shelbyville and Mark Wayne (friend, Christy Robbins) Lancaster of Fairland; sister, Barbara (husband, Tom) Langeslag of Stephensville, Montana; stepgrandchildren, Jessica Wayman and Cody Wayman; stepgreat-grandchild, Journey Wayman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Lancaster was a lifelong Shelby County resident.
He formerly worked at GenPro, General Electric and for several years at the Shelby County Highway Department, retiring in 2010.
Mr. Lancaster was baptized at Boggstown.
He attended school in Fairland and Shelbyville.
Earl enjoyed horseback riding and camping.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, July 20, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the funeral home, with Pastor Ian Farnsley officiating.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery.
