Earl Wayne “Buster” Sweet, of Adams, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at his residence.
He was born December 15, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of Ray Glen Sr. and Marie (Anderson) Sweet.
Buster is survived by his mother of Adams; son, Earl Wayne Sweet II; sisters, Glenda Sweet and Jackie Ruble, both of Greensburg, Barbara Hatfield and husband, Verna, of Nancy, Kentucky and Carol Shepherd and husband, Chris, of Waldron; brothers, Ray Sweet Jr. and wife, Joni, and Oren Sweet and significant other, Melissa Farless, both of Greensburg; grandchildren, Zackery, Tyler, Whitney and Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; son, Christopher Sweet; and sister, Carol Annie Sweet.
Buster was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He retired from Triumph in January of 2016, with over 25 years of service.
Buster enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, electric model trains and motorcycles.
He loved to play Santa for the children in his family, doing so for over 40 years.
Buster also leaves behind his dog, Ava.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2016 at the funeral home, with Ray Sweet III officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
