Elizabeth I. "Liz" "Toots" Lykins, 67, of Shelbyville, passed Monday, July 14, 2008, in her home.
Born March 14, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Berlie E. and Treda L. (Bennett) Shaffer. She married Lonnie Lykins on July 21, 1973, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2006.
Survivors include her daughters, Laura May (husband, Michael) Yaney-Young of Rossburg, Ohio, and Mary Ann (husband, Michael Egerton) Barnes of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Henry Shaffer of Georgia; and her faithful dog, Kate.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Lykins was formerly of Union City, Indiana.
She was a homemaker most of her life, but she also had been employed in factories, Fort Recovery Industries and Heartwig Turkey Plant.
Mrs. Lykins loved bingo, garage sales, gardening and spending time with friends.
A celebration of life service will be held privately.
Services were entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
