Eva Corrine Ray

Eva Corrine Ray, 94, of Morganton, NC went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. She died at Grace Hospital with her family by her side. Mrs. Ray was born in Shelby County, IN on March 20, 1920 to the late Chancy and Idea (Wilkins) Fox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Ray. She was a dedicated member of North Morganton United Methodist Church. Eva is survived by her son, Terry L. Ray and his wife, Drenda, of Morganton; a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Auton and husband, James; great-grandchildren, Jameson and Jennolyn; and three brothers, Lester Fox and his wife, Patricia, of Indianapolis, IN, Charles Fox and his wife, Joann, of Greensburg, IN, and Ray Fox of Indiana. A funeral service will also be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Carmony-Ewing Chapel of Freeman Family Funeral Homes in Shelbyville, IN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Morganton United Methodist Church, 990 Sanford Drive, Morganton, NC 28655. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
