Evaline Ray, 81, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at Heritage House Convalescent Center.
Born October 5, 1928, in Greenup County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Marion Sr. and Martha Bell (Ash) Adkins. She married Max W. Ray on May 19, 151, and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1995.
She is survived by sisters, Christine (husband, Bob) Branson and Gladys Smith, both of Shelbyville.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gregory Ralph Ray; and brothers, Virgil Adkins, Rosecoe Adkins, Oscar Adkins, Talmadge Adkins, Herbert Adkins and Marion Adkins, Jr.
Mrs. Ray formerly worked at DePrez's Hardware, Jester's Department Store, Kopper Kettle, Mary Lou Shop and at Overhead Door for 20 years until the store closed.
She attended Arlington Schools in Arlington.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the funeral home, with Rev. Dean E. Adkins officiating.
Interment will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
